Uganda - AIDS, ARV's and Hunger.....

Edith is is HIV positive and taking ARV's. She has two children, and her husband, who is also positive has another wife, so gives her no support. Edith's crops have failed because there has been no rain.

Every day she has to forage for food to feed herself and her children, and when she takes her ARV treatment she feels sick, because often, it is on an empty stomach. Uganda has pledged to give another 1500 HIV positive people ARV's but with no rain, failing crops, and increasing prices people cannot afford the food they need to make this treatment effective.
